The Blenheim Triathlon, set in the grounds and with the fantastic backdrop of Blenheim Palace, an inspiring and fantastically organised event. I was there to support two wonderful ladies, Kate & Rebecca who were taking part in their first triathlons of the year. Over 6,000 people are taking part over the two day event. The triathlon world has just got bigger and bigger, I remember taking part in my first event 6 years ago, it still felt like a forgotten discipline. With the Brownlee brothers, Jodie Stimpson, Helen Jenkins, Team GB and a host of celebs all taking part all helping raising the profile, people from all walks of life, ages, and levels of fitness are giving it a go. It was a fantastic event to watch, although I was glad to be the spectator not the participant this year, it has wet the appetite to train for an event this year (although may stick to the duathlon – hate swimming ;)).
Huge congratulations to Rebecca and Kate on setting fantastic times yesterday. Good luck to Kate who is taking part at the Windsor triathlon next weekend.
